Bayern Munich forward Mario Gotze says he never considered leaving despite reported interest from Arsenal and Man Utd
Mario Gotze says he has never considered leaving Bayern Munich despite reported interest from the Premier League.
The Germany international was linked with a move away from the Bungesliga champions in the summer transfer window, with Arsenal and Manchester United thought to be keen on the forward.
Gotze, who has scored one goal and made three assists in four Bundesliga games this term, is currently part of Joachim Low’s Germany squad ahead of their clash against Republic of Ireland in Dublin.
And the 23-year-old Bayern forward discussed his future at Pep Guardiola’s side, insisting that he has never considered a move away from the Allianz Arena.
“I never thought about moving,” Gotze is quoted as saying by talkSPORT.
“There may well have been other clubs interested in me but I had no interest in leaving Bayern.
“I feel very, very good here and I’m glad to be a Bayern player.”
Gotze has scored 20 goals in 66 Bundesliga games for Bayern following his controversial move to the German champions from their bitter rivals Borussia Dortmund.
